Our Flow Mach 500 waterjet Long Island cuts virtually any solid material. On the metal side, that includes aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, Inconel, Hastelloy, brass, copper, and tool steels. We handle composites like carbon fiber, fiberglass, and Kevlar without delamination. Stone and glass cut cleanly without chipping. Plastics, rubber, foam, and gasket materials are all fair game. The system can handle materials from thin foils up to 12 inches thick, though cutting speed obviously varies with thickness and hardness. What makes waterjet particularly useful is that it’s a cold cutting process—there’s no heat-affected zone, no thermal distortion, and no change to the material’s properties. This matters when you’re working with heat-treated metals, tempered materials, or anything where dimensional stability is critical. The only materials we can’t cut are tempered glass (which is designed to shatter under pressure) and diamonds (which are harder than the abrasive garnet we use). Everything else is on the table. If you’re working with an unusual material or need to confirm capability for a specific grade or thickness, just ask—we’ve likely cut it before.
